Help - [Etcetera]
Last year, through the miracle of buffoonery, we raised $1,300 [Canadian (don't ask)] to help out a village in Africa. While we haven't received any updates from Gordo, we hold on to the faith that this money actually went to the village people and did not in fact fund Gordo's trip to a "clothing optional" resort in Mexico. This year, we will once again carbonate our collective holiness and harness the power of buffoonery to give evil and poverty a kick in the ass in the name of love.

Count me in. But this year, I think we need to post video of Sharon doing the hippy hippy shake online instead of just the etceteracam. That's just too good to restrict to a limited audience. I've almost finished paying back the money I borrowed last year to watch it.
Thanks Erik! I appreciate opportunities to join forces with other Etceterites to reach the far-flung corners of the world. Whether we buy heating oil, food or help build Stella's House (to protect 16 year-old girls from being forced into prostitution) this is a worthy cause and a great way to be Christ to “the least of these.”

This is the sort of thing I hate to see. Literally. I don't like looking at Children under those conditions. It makes me feel bad, stirred, and dare I say, human. It was all I could do to keep from closing my browser and pretending like it never happened....that that ugliness isn't out there, that we all live in nice homes, have good jobs, and go through life happy...but a realization hits me, that that isn't so. We're the fortunate ones, blessed beyond belief in a pit of self-righteousness that can lead us to complain about things like money, cars, and iPods. When Jesus said feed the poor, he meant it damnitt. I'll do what I can to help
I have just received a letter from the office in Mozambique, thanking us for our contribution and that they will be back in touch with us to let us know how the funds were dispersed.
I believe that the World Vision vision worker was in fact naked when they wrote the letter (don't ask).
