See What U2 Has Done - [Erik]

Many thanks and much love to Matt from Canada for passing along the following staggering work of art. It's the video for Window in the Skies, the new single from U2 (released on January 1st). The song is amazing and the video is even amazinger.

Hey E -

I just heard you say on last week's SBE that Nirvana actually does smell like teen spirit. I always thought that was the case.

You know, Nostradamus wasn't really appreciated in his time, either.

Did you notice that the graphic at the end credits the making of the spider video to The First Church of Christ?

I missed the credit. Guess I'm a little slow. Perhaps I'm part of the Second Church?

Sharon spake thusly:

I just finished Secret Life of Jesus by McLaren, and he talks about how beauty and that "connected to the human race" feeling are glimpses of the Kingdom of Heaven. your post made me think of that.

I saw a concert recently that literally brought me to tears- not the music, or the stage presence, or the lyrics or songs or lights or whatever....

but the "connectedness" of the band and all the people there for the show... It was like heaven- everyone just was enjoying the beauty of creating music and enjoying it.

The stuff churches often try to manufacture in "worship services" happens for me in weird places.
