Its the sense of fire, running down your spine. Coalescing, Where your wings should be. Your soul is ignited, By the love that loves love, And in love everything. The spring of faith is of fire not of water. Home of the altogether other, Barer of this broken, adamant heart, It is heaven that is hot. A heat that burns the chaff, Refines the sinner, Warms the broken, Comforts the lonely.
I checked them out, they're a group called "Young@Heart" and they perform contemporary songs like this I guess. One review said "Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' has nothing on these guys"
Jordy, that was beautiful. I think I get what you mean. Sometimes, you do feel like you should have wings, because your heart and your soul is wanting to soar. There are moments when you see or feel or hear something, a moment that clarifies, explains, refuses, or allows, and you just want to lift off the ground. Good words.
WTF? World Taekwondo Federation? No, it had nothing to do with that. I was just moved. I like to focus the emotional experience of the moment into a less transient form. Not dissimilar to qi. Though my words seem random. They are just an expression of my momentary reaction to the old people singing. Anne Lamott has a pencil and is ready to use it, so I have to be a bit spontaneous.
[ping] is the old blog for an internet show/podcast that streams live on Tuesday afternoons from 4 - 5 EST. The show exists (ostensibly) to promote the radio program on which we work, Steve Brown Etc. Truth be told, it's much more than that to us (and a lot less to others).
Click here for the live stream Tues. 4 - 5 PM EST & bounce back the [ping] by calling in toll-free during the program... 1.888.547.8383.

Cripes! It's way to early in the day to get emotional!
Cool. Where did you get this?
I know "youtube", but do you have any more background?

It's interesting that Matt mentions Johnny Cash's "Hurt." I had similar reactions to both songs.
This blew me away.
